This is from MATA:

Reservation Changes / Cancellation For you and other passenger’s convenience please notify us regarding your reservation changes at the earliest possible time at 722-7171. Late changes for scheduled trips can be disruptive to other passengers. We make every attempt to accommodate your transportation needs.

Please notify us regarding your cancellations at 722-7107 at the earliest possible time. As of June 1, 2002, when you call to make a cancellation you will be given a cancellation confirmation number. If you are inadvertently charged with a No-show and can provide MATAplus with your confirmation number, you will not be charged with a No-show.

Failing to notify MATAplus that you are canceling a scheduled trip may cause a vehicle to be unnecessarily dispatched. This can cause service disruptions and delays to other passengers. An excessive number of late cancellations may result in temporary suspension of service privileges.

MATA has the technology to track and locate all MATAplus vehicles with the use of a Geographic Positioning Satellite System (GPS). This capability will allow MATAplus to determine if a vehicle has been or is in route to your pick-up or drop-off location. This new technology also provides MATAplus with the ability to determine how long a vehicle was at any location ensuring that the passenger five (5) minute grace period has been allowed.

No-Show Policy

Scheduling a trip and then failing to use the service without properly canceling the trip causes serious transportation and scheduling problems for MATAplus and all of our customers.

If you are unable to make your trip, please call MATAplus as soon as possible. If you fail to notify MATAplus that you do not require a scheduled trip, at least one hour prior to your pick-up time, you will be considered a No-Show. If you are a “No-Show” for a scheduled trip and you have a scheduled return trip, MATAplus will honor your return trip unless you notify MATAplus that the return trip is not required. If you do not notify MATAplus that you do not require the second trip, you will be considered a No-show for that trip as well. If you are a No-Show at your residence, MATAplus will not return to pick you up on that same day. If you are a No-show for a return trip, MATAplus will return a second time to pick you up, however, you will have to pay an additional No-show fare prior to being transported. If MATAplus does return to pick you up, a second time, and you do not take the trip, you will be charged with an additional No-show payable before you are transported on MATAplus.

No-Show Penalty Each customer that has a No-Show violation will be charged an additional fare, payable prior to boarding the vehicle, whenever your next trip is taken on MATAplus. MATAplus will not transport you until the no-show fare has been paid. If for any reason you are charged with a No-show, and MATAplus determines that you were not a No-show, MATAplus will provide you with a free trip.

No-shows that occur because of an emergency situation beyond the customer’s control will be considered a “non-chargeable” late cancellation, provided the customer can offer an explanation with documentation.
